Review : Jordana Powder Blush in 33 Sandalwood

Check out my review by clicking read more!

A review requested by Nabilah from Beauty & the Beast who asked for a full review of the Jordana Powder Blushes which I gotten them from my previous haul at Colours Cosmetics Malaysia - read all about it here.

So far, I managed to do a review on Jordana Powder Blush in Sandalwood as I was getting ready to go out (why not snap pictures while using it?) haha! Sorry, Nabilah (>__<)

Ingredient list
Product Description
According to Jordana Cosmestics' website, Sandalwood is described as Peach Pink with a matte finish. No arguments there as the description is quite accurate.

It comes in a reflective plastic silver container with a screw-top consisting 2.2g worth of product which makes it slightly bulky but it is not a deal-breaker. As proudly printed at the back of the blush below a long list of ingredients, it is made in the USA. The texture of the blush is smooth, finely milled powder which blends flawlessly onto the skin. The pigmentation is nowhere near chalky and has a 'balanced' colour payoff - not too crazily pigmented like Sleek blushes but not too weak where I can't even tell if its on my face.

I personally have not tried any products from Jordana Cosmetics before and this is my first time trying out their products.

Review
When I first saw the swatches online (tons of them!) and with a 4.5 out 5 ratings on Makeup Alley plus an awesome price tag of only RM15! How could I resist? The swatches of the other shades left clueless on which shade I should start off with. But thank goodness, both blushes that I have purchased from CCM suited me to the T. I purchased Jordana Powder Blush in Sandalwood and Jordana Powder Blush in Sunlit Bronze (review coming soon!)

In the picture below, I used my trusty Ecotools Blush brush which I'm sorry to announce that it has passed on. You have served me well, Ecotools Blush brush. May you rest in peace. *funeralsong*

Okay, moaning over. Anyway back to the main purpose of this post! - rambling again!

As you can see the right side of my face (your left), is a freshly applied Jordana Powder Blush in Sandalwood. Isn't it pretty? Love how it brings life with that 'glow' to my pale, foundation-ed face. Just the way I like it, no additional shimmer/glitter, just a pretty glowy hint of colour :)

Oh just to let you know, I have a superbly oily skin especially on the T zone area and cheeks. The infamous Malaysian humid weather does not help my skin much either. This blush could last up to 9+ hours - give & take, applied at 8am and it lasted all the way up till 6pm-ish. Okay, don't believe me?

I cheekily decided to put the blush (Jordana Powder Blush in Sunlit Bronze) to the test by going for a random jog & gym with my roommate and conveniently 'forgot' to remove my minimal makeup. (You might be thinking, WHAT WAS SHE THINKING??) Heh.

Guess what?

IT STAYED ON, after 30 minutes of walking/jogging and even after 40 minutes of gym! My powder foundation kinda melted off but the blush stayed. Not only it stayed, but my floormate whom jogged with us commented the blush looked so pretty and natural. (Natural flush + blush, YES! *fistpump*) Not trying to exaggerate as I only tried this once. So it could probably sheer luck or the blush is just darn good.

A summarized review for those who can't stand my long-winded post (tryingnottofeeloffendedhere) :

POSITIVE POINTS :
- It does not irritate my sensitive skin.
- It does not cause my skin to breakout (whiteheads/blackheads/pimples/etc).
- It applies ever so smoothly, not patchy.
- It comes with a nifty price tag of RM15.
- It stays true to colour (may change slightly due to sebum/sweat)
- Great for oily skinned gals like me!

NEGATIVE POINTS :
- Not readily available in Malaysia.
- Only available online (Purchased mine via CCM)
- Slightly powdery.

PRODUCT RATE : A- !

As you can see, there's more positive points compared to the negative ones. For me, there is no deal-breaker for this powder blush and I may not purchase the same colour (it would take years for me to finish it) but I will definitely purchase it in other colours!

Well, I hope I did not miss out anything else but if I do, just comment below and I'd add it more!

Hope you have found this review interesting and thanks for reading! :)

Love,
Sarah <3
